A group of Indian-Americans has ignited a surprisingly fierce debate in the gentle world of Yoga by mounting a campaign to acquaint Westerners with the faith that it says underlies every single yoga style followed in gyms, ashrams and spas: Hinduism. Family discord and financial shortfalls have plagued the opulent but bankrupt Crystal Cathedral, an operation some see as outdated.
Bobby Schuller -- the founder's grandson -- has established his own, more intimate church, seeking to evolve with the times. The ongoing saga of Rick Joyner's Heritag tower is, well, still ongoing.

A man suspected of fatally stabbing his ex-wife, a follower of a group that split from the AUM Shinrikyo cult, has told police he thought that the killing would enable him to get his daughter back. The Novosibirsk Central District Court has upheld the prosecution's request to extend custody for leader of the Ashram Shambala religious sect Konstantin Rudnev.
Arrested in early October, Rudnev was charged with creating a religious organization encroaching upon citizens' rights, rape and sexual abuse. More Recent Articles |
