Swedish authorities stumped by exorcism murder case

exorcism Sweden's National Board of Forensic Medicine has admitted that it lacks the tools to fully assess the risk of relapse for the 52-year-old man convicted of killing his seven-year-old stepdaughter during an "exorcism".

The board concluded that existing risk assessment methodology is insufficient to assess the case and that it "lacks any experience of phenomena of this kind".

Court overturns cult leader Wayne Bent's convictions

Wayne Bent The New Mexico Court of Appeals on Tuesday tossed out the convictions of a religious group's leader who had been found guilty of sexual misconduct with teenage followers.

The court ruled a grand jury's term had expired months before it returned an indictment against Wayne Bent and that a district judge didn't have the power to extend its term.

Peter Moses A Durham County, North Carolina grand jury has indicted seven people in connection with the deaths of a 5-year-old boy and young woman.

Among those indicted is alleged cult leader 27-year-old Peter Moses Jr.

Islam Enraged Muslims burned down several Christian-owned homes, surrounded a church and threatened to kill a priest last week in two unrelated incidents in Upper Egypt.

Former polygamous sect leaders appear in Texas court

Frederick Merril Jessop Frederick Merril Jessop, a former bishop of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was told to stay in Texas until his trial unless he gets permission from the court to take medical trips out of state.

Two other FLDS leaders appeared in court as well.
