Saburo Nishimura A man suspected of fatally stabbing his ex-wife, a follower of a group that split from the AUM Shinrikyo cult, has told police he thought that the killing would enable him to get his daughter back.




Russian cult leader to stay in custody until after New Year's

Nikolai Rudnev The Novosibirsk Central District Court has upheld the prosecution's request to extend custody for leader of the Ashram Shambala religious sect Konstantin Rudnev.

Arrested in early October, Rudnev was charged with creating a religious organization encroaching upon citizens' rights, rape and sexual abuse.
