The controversial Church of Scientology is in the process of acquiring an office complex in a suburb of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The enormous complex is located in the New West suburb -- well away from the city's center, where the problem-plagued cult has had a presence for decades.

A couple convicted for torturing and murdering a 15-year-old boy they accused of using witchcraft have been jailed for life.

Football coach Eric Bikubi, 28, has been ordered to serve at least 30 years. His partner, Magalie Bamu, 29, will serve a minimum of 25 years.

Fugitive cult leader Rocco Leo has settled a lawsuit with a former member who sued him over donations to the doomsday cult.

Court documents in the lawsuit filed by businessman Martin Penney allege Leo convinced him he would be poisoned and killed by the government unless he handed over $1.2 million.
