Makoto Hirata A former AUM Shinrikyo follower who turned herself in to Tokyo police early Tuesday was arrested later in the day on suspicion of harboring Makoto Hirata -- a former senior member of the cult, who was apprehended on New Year's Day after surrendering to the police.

Pastor Gets 15 Years for Massive Medicare Fraud

Christopher Iruke and Connie Ikpoh A federal judge has sentenced the pastor of a now defunct Los Angeles church to 15 years in prison after he was convicted for bilking millions from Medicare for unnecessary power wheelchairs.

Warren Jeffs Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs has had his phone privileges revoked for 90 days after prison authorities concluded he broke rules concerning prison phone use.

"It was apparent in reviewing the phone calls that he was speaking to more than one person," an official said -- a violation of a rule that says inmates can talk only to people on a 10-person approved visitor list.
