What Happened To My Hope?

Posted: 20 Jan 2010 10:23 AM PST

2And again, Isaiah says, "The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations;
   the Gentiles will hope in him." 13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:12-14

The last few months I have felt down. My spirit was not filled with joy. I love blogging and talking about the Lord, yet my desire to do so left me. I could not figure out why. What was wrong with me? Why do I not have that passion any longer?  The only thing I could do was to pray and to pray without ceasing until I got the answer from my Father.

My husband noticed that I had not been blogging. He asked me why and I said, "I just do not have the desire to do so anymore." He looked at me and said, "think back to the last day that you wrote on your blog. What happened."

I sat and I thought about the last blog that I wrote. I remember getting an email from an "anonymous" reader who said some pretty awful things to me about my blog. I was called everything but the child of God that I am. I remember just sitting there crying and crying because this email hurt me to my very soul. I did not tell a sole about it. I kept this email, why I don't know, and I read it to my husband. He said something which I did not think about, "the person who sent this email said they read every one of your writings. You have over 300 posts so just think about how long it took them to read.. It was something they read that convicted their spirit. They were mad at themselves, yet they took it out on you. The Holy Spirit was talking to their spirit through something you wrote. The only reaction they could think of was to hurt the writer as much as they were hurting."

I did not think about that. How could I have missed the fact that the person said they read all of my posts? I guess all I could see at that moment was the mean and hateful words they had written. I had done nothing wrong but to speak the truth. I had done nothing wrong but to tell of how wonderful, precious and loving God is. All I ever wanted when I started this blog was to let just one person know  that there are others who have sufferings, pains, hardships and worries in life. To let just one person know that there is hope and that hope can only come from God.

I almost lost all hope in that one email. I allowed myself to steadily think about one email over and over again in my mind. That email was not my hope. That email was a distraction from the SOURCE of my hope who is Jesus Christ.

I thank my Father for giving me the answer to a prayer through my husband. My husband read the email with a spiritual mind where as I read it with my fleshly mind. He saw the pain in the person that I did not see. God opened my eyes that day. He let me know I was making a difference in someone's life and for me not to stop.

I hope I have not lost any of my friends by not blogging for a while. I have missed blogging for God so much! I am back now and I am more armed and ready than ever. It is my time to rise and shine and let the world know that God is real. That He is loving, kind and compassionate. That He is full of grace and mercy. That He is the only source of hope that you will ever need.

MY HOPE, MY HOPE is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus name.

Be Blessed!
