District attorney reaches out to families in faith-healing church

Followers of Christ Church District Attorney John Foote has kept his promise to reach out to an Oregon City church whose members have been prosecuted for failing to provide adequate medical care for their children.

The church, a cult of Christianity, has left a trail of dead children in its wake.



Jailed Chilean cult leader Paul Schaefer dies at 88

Colonia Digniad cult leader Paul Schaefer Former Nazi Paul Schaefer, who founded a secretive German cult in Southern Chile in the 1960s and was later convicted of sexually abusing children, died of heart failure in a prison hospital Saturday, officials said.

He was 88.
