Hundreds of people attended the funeral Wednesday, March 24, of a young Christian man who was allegedly burned by Muslim extremists and police officers for refusing to convert of Islam.

Arshed Masih, 38, was burned Friday, March 19, in front of a police station in Rawalpindi, Police Superintendent Moin Shah told BosNewsLife. His wife Martha Masih, 33, was raped by possibly three police officers in the police station, where the couple had been held for questioning, he added.

Federal prosecutors had asked Whitney to immediately incarcerate Bishop Anthony Jinwright and his wife, Pastor Harriett Porter Jinwright, arguing they have violated their bond by failing to pay $85,000 in taxes for 2007 and 2008.

Whitney said he didn't think putting the couple in jail was "appropriate today," less than two weeks before they go to trial. But the judge said prosecutors have shown probable cause to support a new criminal charge that the couple is engaging in a criminal conspiracy by not paying the taxes.
