Gold!!!

Posted: 15 Feb 2010 09:11 AM PST

Wow! God is truly amazing! I am praising Him all over the place! Saturday my baby girl, Jailynn, (well she is 13 years old but still my baby LOL) competed in her very first choir solo competition. She won the highest medal which is gold! Oh my goodness, thank you Jesus! You know I cried!

When she came out, she had a big smile on her face (this is before she found out whether she won a medal or not) and she said, "Mom, I prayed before I began to sing. I just asked God to calm me down. I followed your advice, I sang my song to God." Her choir teacher said, "she sang with power and confidence. I know she will get a gold." Just them the moderator came over and handed her the card we had been waiting on. It was marked Gold!

Praise you Jesus!!!!!

Her day did not start off well as she was suppose to compete with two other girls in the group competition, but one of the girls backed out on her Saturday morning. She was really down and got pretty mad at her friend for backing out. I told her to say a prayer and to ask for God's help in forgiving her friend. She went into her room for a while and it took everything I had not to go in and check on her, but I knew she needed her private time with God. She came out about an hour later and said, I feel much better now mom. Talking to God really helps. She did let me know she was not going to talk to her friend for a while. She said she was still upset with her, but not as much as she was.

Oh how I so want to protect and shield my children from the pains and hurts of this world!
Yet, I know that I can not and they will have to go through all the ups and down of life.

When it comes to our children, all we can do is teach them all that we possibly can about God, Jesus Christ and faith. Proverbs 22:6 instructs us to:Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Then we as parents have to put them in God's loving hands and pray that they will make it through life clinging to Him. We can not live their life for them, yet we know that God will always be with them.

Knowing God is watching over my children eases my mind. It will ease yours as well.

I pray you are teaching your children about God. In the end, God is all they will have in this world.

Be Blessed!
